Joseph G. Vilbig, 51, passed away at his home in Amelia, VA January 9,2018.  He is survived by his parents, Joseph H. and Mary Vilbig, Ft.Myers, FL, his mother, Sally Herbert Vilbig, Amelia VA, his brothers Scott (Sue) Amelia, VA, Stephan(Sharon) Vilbig, Orlando, FL, his children Samantha Green(Eric) Minneapolis, MN, Nylayla, Joseph T., Kyle, Idaho Falls, ID adopted son Kade, Idaho Falls, ID, grandaughter Bella, Minneapolis, MN, wife Krista Stanger, Idaho Falls, ID, aunts, uncles, cousins, nephew Scott Vilbig Amelia, VA, Kaneland and Oswego friends, and Navy comrades in arms.  Joe had a BS degree and was working on his masters.  He served his country in the Navy from 1987 to 1994 as a Radiation Health Tech obtaining the rank of E5.  He was an IT guru and loved anything to do with science(real or imagined), all athletics, classic rock and was a vociferous reader.   Military services will be at the chapel at Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia; time and date to be determined.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Joseph G.
