Judy Alice Smith Darling, age 78 of Amelia, went to be with the Lord on May 24, 2021.  She is survived by her husband, Donald Lewis Darling, daughter Sherry Lynn Hastings (Rodney) of Amelia, brother Donnie Smith (Sherrill) of Quinton, VA and sister Peggy Harrison (Ernie) of Harrisonburg, granddaughters Brittany Gayle Hastings of Amelia and Taylor Hastings Petrosky (Micah) of Richmond, a great-granddaughter Natalia Josephine Rose Petrosky, nieces Kathy Smith DeVeau (Lesli), Crystal Bourne, Kimberly Cumbie and Casey Harrison, and nephew D. Wayne Smith (Donna).  She was preceded in death by her son Darrell Thompson, and parents Pauline and Ed Smith.  The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 27 at Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home, 16409 Court St. in Amelia.  Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 28 at the funeral home private interment in Arbor Baptist Church Cemetery to follow.
