Kathryn Cox Pope of Amelia Court House, Virginia and Pembroke Pines, Florida born 1921 in Cotton Plant, Arkansas died May 6, 2010. She is predeceased by her loving husband, William Augustus Pope, Jr. Kitty is survived by her children Kathryn and husband John Blanton Walker of Pembroke Pines, Florida; Bettye Pope and Jill Pope of Amelia Courthouse, Virginia; and grand children Kathryn and husband Marc Tarquinio of Deerfield Beach, Florida and Jesse and wife Jaclyn Walker of San Diego, California. She was a member of the WACS in service to her country during WWII; she was an avid painter; a member of the the Womens Auxiliary of Amelia County Rescue Squad; a member of Amelia County VFW and a former member of the Hanover Garden Club. Visitation will be held Monday, May 10 at Hillsman-Hix Funeral from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Graveside service will be held Tuesday, May 11 at 2:00 P.M. at Maury Cemetery in Richmond, Virginia. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Amelia County Rescue Squad.
