Leander S. "Lanny" O'Neal, age 90, of Crewe, Virginia, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2026, due to natural causes. Born on December 22, 1935, Lanny was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and a respected member of his community. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 70 years, Mary Ann Brightwell O'Neal, and his cherished parents, Warren and Rachel Johnson O'Neal.

Lanny is lovingly remembered by his sons, Leander S. "Andy" O'Neal Jr. (Cynthia) and Spencer Talton O'Neal (Arlene), both of Amelia, as well as his grandson, Talton Warren O'Neal. Throughout his life, Lanny devoted himself to his work as an electrician, founding O'Neals Electrical, a legacy that continues today through the dedication of his sons who follow in his footsteps.

A celebration of Lanny's life will be held at the Amelia Presbyterian Church on June 22, 2026. The public is invited to pay their respects during a viewing beginning at 12:00 p.m., followed by a service at 2:00 p.m. Interment will take place in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests that donations be made to the Pryor Memorial Presbyterian Church, located at 115 East Tennessee Ave., Crewe, VA 23930.

The family invites all who knew and loved Lanny to join them in honoring a life well-lived, a life marked by compassion, hard work, and a deep commitment to family and community. His memory will forever reside in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
