Ledford Carlas Dawson, age 88, of Amelia, passed away on September 5, 2019.  He is survived by his wife Gladys, his children, Brenda Frost (Ron), Pam Hood (Terry), and Jimmy Dawson (Teresa), all of Amelia; grandchildren Eddie Conner, Tim Conner, Heidi Snyder, Crystal Farris, James Dawson, and Amber Weyant; fourteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.  The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. on Sunday September 8 at the Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home, 16409 Court St. in Amelia.  Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Salem UMC Cemetery.  The family wants to thank New Century Hospice for their love and care during his final days.  Contributions may be made to Salem United Methodist Church, 11310 Clementown Rd., Amelia, VA 23002.
