Lee Hughes Synan, age 86, of Amelia, passed from this life on October 16, 2013.  She graduated from Emmanuel Jr. College of Franklin Springs, Georgia, then proceeded to work at Fort Lee.  She met her forever love of her life Joseph Alexander Synan, Jr. (Papa) and was happily married for 56 years before his passing.  She is survived by her daughter Rhonda Burdette and son-in-law Wayne Hutson of Amelia; sister Alma Parker and brother-in-law Bobby Parker of Roanoke, VA; granddaughter April Fitts and grand son-in-law James Fitts, great-grandchildren Cody Fitts, Joshua Fitts, and Amber Fitts, all of Victoria, VA; and her niece Meryle Parker of Roanoke, VA.  The viewing will be held at Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home, 16409 Court St. in Amelia on Monday October 21, 2013 from 10am-12 noon. The funeral will follow at 12 noon Interment to follow at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery
