Mr. Lewis Edward Brizendine, age 77, of Amelia passed from this life on July 15, 2009. Mr. Brizendine was a retired inspector with General Electric Controls. He was a U. S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Brizendine, son, Kenneth Edward Brizendine and wife Anna of Powhatan, daughter, Leisa Brizendine Surface and husband Frank of Amelia, sisters, Joyce Headford of Roanoke, and Marie Atkins of Salem, Va., brothers, William C. Brizendine of Suffolk, Va. and Robert Stuart Brizendine of Hampton, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Private graveside services will be held later at the Brickey Family Cemetery in Craig, County Virginia. Arrangements by the Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home of Amelia.
