Lewis Jackson Hammonds Sr., age 93 of Pamplin, passed away on March 28, 2022. He was preceded in death by his wife Reva Mae and his children Oscar Hammonds, Joyce Hammonds and Angela Kidd. He is survived by his children Lewis Hammonds Jr. of WV, Brenda Crawford of Burkeville, Alfred Hammonds of Hampden-Sydney, Deborah Reames of Victoria, Robert Hammonds of Charlottesville, Bobby Hammonds of Gladys, Betty Glenn of Prospect and Candace Morgan of Pamplin, 36 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren among other relatives.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday April 2 at Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home, 16409 Court St. in Amelia. Interment will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia with military honors.
