Linda S. Waggoner, a retired teacher, passed away peacefully on May 7 th in a family member's home in Chesterfield, VA. She was 56. Prior to moving to Virginia, she resided in Panama City, FL for 40 years. She was a graduate of Rutherford High School and proudly received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Florida State University. She taught social studies at Merritt Brown Middle School in Bay County before retiring due to disability in 2014. She was an avid reader and was particularly passionate about history, politics, social justice, and current events. Her most joyous moments in recent years were during time spent with grandchildren. Linda is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Christina and Chad Michael of Md.; son and daughter-in-law, Jacob Waggoner and Jennifer Pelletier of Fla.; her parents, Flo and Charles Warren of Amelia; sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Bo Smith of Chesterfield; brother Charlie Warren of Farmville; grandchildren Addie and Cameron Michael and Tristan Pelletier. She is also survived by several beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. She is pre-deceased by sister Joy Hutchison and sister-in-law Leigh Warren. Friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of life on Monday, May 11, 2015 at 2:00pm at Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home, 16409 Court Street, Amelia, VA 23002.
