Louis French Paret, III, 74, of Amelia, Virginia passed away on Friday, May 18, 2012 at his home where he lived for 35 years. Formally of Richmond, Lou was the son of the late Margaret Yeager Paret and Louis French Paret, Jr of Richmond, Virginia. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jane Price Paret, and four children: Sarah Scott Thomas (Bill) of Midlothian, Virginia, Suzanne Hamlin (Scott) of Seattle, Washington, Jane P. Norman of Dinwiddie, Virginia, Louis French Paret, IV (Carey) of Memphis, Tennessee and six grandchildren. Other survivors include two sisters, Suzanne Paret Roberts of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Margaret Paret Duncan of Marblehead, Massachusetts. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Louis Paret of Silsbee, Texas. Lou was a veteran of the United States Army and attended Richmond Professional Institute (VCU). He was retired from Exxon Mobil Company, USA where he worked for 35 years and active in numerous organizations throughout his life including past chairman of the Amelia Industrial Development Association, the Amelia Lions Club, the Republican Party of Amelia and member of Christ Episcopal Church. Passionate about his home and family, Lou was an avid gardener, woodworker and golfer (though his passion for golf was greater than his skill). A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at Christ Episcopal Church in Amelia, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ Episcopal Church, Box 468, Amelia, Virginia, 23002. The family will receive friends at their home after the funeral.
