Mildred Louise Elder Davenport, age 90, of Amelia, passed from this life on July 16, 2017.  She was preceded in death by her parents, James O. and Lula S. Elder, husband, Lewis L. Davenport, her brother Oliver Elder, sisters, May Mahanes, and Jean Green, and is survived by her son, James L. Davenport and daughter-in-law, Catherine B. Davenport, her daughter, Carolyn D. Lewis and son-in-law, James W. Lewis, grandchildren, Daniel, Benjamin, Philip, Sarah, Johanna, and Suzanne, great grandchildren, John, Mikey, Joshua, James, and Teddy. Funeral services will be held at 11AM on Wednesday July 19, at the Amelia Presbyterian Church 16401 Dunn St., Amelia with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  Mrs. Davenport taught several generations in her 30 years of teaching in the Amelia Elementary School  system. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Amelia Presbyterian Church, Amelia Historical Society, or the James L. Hamner Library.
