Lula Mae Blankenship Farmer, 89, of Amelia passed away at her home on March 6, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Maylon Farmer. She leaves behind one son, Paul E. Farmer and wife Kathleen of Amelia; one daughter, Priscilla F. Horton of Richmond; and one grandson, Paul E. Farmer, Jr. (P.J.) and wife Alicia of Staunton. She is also survived by two brothers, James Blankenship and Lewis Blankenship, both of Tennessee, and two sisters, Nola B. Harkness of Florida and Fanny B. Stone of Georgia. Lula was a member of Amelia Baptist Church and the Crewe chapter of the Eastern Star. She was retired from Philip Morris. Graveside services only on Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at 3:00 p.m. at Amelia Presbyterian Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Amelia Emergency Squad or the charity of choice.
