Luther H. Cifers, Jr. age 73 of Amelia, passed away on January 28, 2023. He is survived by his wife of more than 50 years, Janice Benfield Cifers, children Crystal Banton (Jerry), Luther H. Cifers III (Anastasiia), and Steven A. Cifers (Tabbi); ten grandchildren, Cody (Marissa), Tyler (Makenzie), Michala, Sundari (Sam), Tehya (Evan), Savannah, Zachary, Brittany, Ksiusha, and a baby boy due in June; as well as two brothers and three sisters. He cofounded two family businesses, River City Refrigeration and Revolutionary Hives, which are still owned and operated by his children. Luther was a widely respected man of devout faith, and was a former deacon at Sandy Creek Baptist Church and Grace Harvest Baptist Church. The family will receive friends on Friday February 3, from 6-8:30 p.m. at Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home, 16409 Court St. in Amelia. Church services will held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday February 4 at Sandy Creek Baptist Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
