Mabel G. Garnett, age 91, of Amelia, passed away on May 14, 2011. She was predeceased by her husband James Roy Garnett, Sr. She is survived by her sons, Donald Wayne Garnett of Houston, TX, Gary Lee Garnett and James Roy Garnett Jr., and daughter Carolyn Faye Garnett, all of Amelia; sister Joyce Elizabeth Wood of Mechanicsville; seven grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; and special friend and caretaker Shirley Bradner. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday May 17, 2011 at Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home, 16409 Court St. in Amelia, with burial to follow at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery.
