Marion Ellsworth "Red" Richie, age 81, of Amelia passed from this life, on Dec. 19, 2017.  He is preceded in death by his parents; James Vernon and Alma Pitts Richie and his infant son; James Marion Richie and  is survived by his wife; Mary Ann Duggan Richie, his sons, Jason (Joanna) of Chesterfield, and Brian of Richmond, his brother, Warren (Joan)  Richie of Panama City, Fla., grandchildren, Tyler  Richie, Brian Reyher, Sophia Richie, Brennan Richie, and Margeux Richie.  "Red" was a veteran of the US Air Force and was retired as a Communication Specialist from NASA.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 AM on Wednesday Dec. 27, 2017 at Good Samaritan Catholic Church  13441 Patrick Henry Highway, Amelia with interment to follow at 1:00 PM with military honors at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery 10300 Pridesville Rd. Amelia, Va. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6-8PM at the Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home 16409 Court St. in Amelia.
