Mary Kathleen Anderson Hawkins, age 98, died June 15, 2014 in Tallahassee, Florida.

She was born June 11, 1916 in Amelia, daughter of Robert George Anderson and Blanche Louise Martin. Mrs. Hawkins graduated from Amelia High School and Richmond Business College. After marrying John Calvin Hawkins she lived most of her married life in Richmond. She worked as a bookkeeper and then devoted herself to raising their family. She later returned to work at the Thomas Allergy Clinic. Once retired, she moved to Panama City, FL and finally to Westminster Oaks Retirement Community where she happily resided until her death. Mrs. Hawkins was a life-long Presbyterian and a member of Pine Grove, Forest Hill, Grace, and Lafayette Presbyterian Churches.

She was predeceased by her husband John Calvin Hawkins, her grandson Eric Wright, and her four brothers, John, Kenneth, Malcolm, and Rodney Anderson. She is survived by her daughter Linda Hawkins Brannon and husband Hillman, daughter Norma Hawkins Wright and husband William, "almost son" Stewart Anderson and wife Cheryl, and grandchildren Emily Wright, Kate Wright Mills and husband Derek, and Drew Brannon and wife Jennifer. Also surviving are "Virginia daughter" Nancy  Shelton, "almost sister" Ercelle Morris, sister-in-law Rose Anderson, brother-in-law Winfrey Hawkins and wife Shirley, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Pine Grove Presbyterian Church in Amelia County at 10:00 a.m. on July 5, 2014 with interment at Pine Grove Cemetery. A reception will follow at Piedmont Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to Big Bend Hospice of Tallahassee or the Benevolent Assistance Fund at Westminster Oaks Retirement Community.
