Mary Barden Davis of Amelia passed away on January 30, 2018.  She was predeceased by parents Sammie and Ada Barden; brothers Cabell and Robert Barden; sisters Veni Penick, Mae Nixon and Annie Wingo.  She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Cecil H. Davis, sister-in-law Lynda Lee (Bill), brothers-in-law  Elwood B. Davis Jr. ( Annie Mae) and Eugene C. Davis.  Mary worked beside her husband as a farmer's wife all her married life.  She was a long time member of Amelia Baptist Church.  She loved working in her flowers.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Amelia Baptist Church, or a charity of your choice.  The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. on Thursday February 1 at the Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home, 16409 Court St. in Amelia.  A church service is set for 11:00 a.m. Friday at Amelia Baptist Church with burial at Salem UMC Cemetery.
