Mary Etta Bennett Wilkerson, age 90, of Amelia, died on July 12, 2019. She was born in King, NC on January 31, 1929. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Reid Wilkerson; 12 siblings Molly, Austin, Reade, Lethea, Nettie, Ada, Agnes, Daisy, Fitzhugh, Ruth, Moneda, and Delia; and parents William Isom Bennett and Henrietta Robertson Bennett. She is survived by sons Michael (Debbie) of Rural Retreat, VA and Darrell (Donna) of North Chesterfield, VA; grandchildren Joey of Raleigh, NC, Jessica of Stuarts Draft, VA, Reid and Rachel of North Chesterfield, VA; and great grandchildren Devon and Rebecca of Stuarts Draft, VA. Her remains rest at Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home in Amelia. A graveside memorial service will be held at Union Baptist Church Cemetery, 22110 Genito Road, Amelia, VA at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 19, 2019. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Amelia County Rescue Squad.
