She was born to Evelyn May Smith and Charles Edwin Le Compte in Baltimore, Maryland on May 21, 1925, and lived in the Baltimore area for 40 years before relocating to Richmond, Virginia. She is survived by her children, Katherine Kranz and her husband, Ed; Charles Neil Feigl and his wife, Linda; Phyllis Shanklin and her husband, Wade; daughter Anne Marie McPherson and her husband, John; and daughter-in-law, Ann Feigl. Also left to carry on her memory are grandchildren Christy Tanner, Kip Butler, Neil Brett Feigl, Elizabeth Butler, Melanie Reas, Michael Butler, Sarah Feigl, Andrew Butler, Daniel Feigl; and many great grandchildren. She also leaves behind a multitude of other family members, friends and caregivers who will miss the warm hugs and sweet smiles she generously gave to everyone she loved, right up until her last days.
