.Mary Ella Jones – Age 77, of Amelia departed from this Life on July 6, 2018 . She was born August 15, 1940 in Prince George County Va. and is preceded in death by her father – Ernest Markham and mother – Lucy Smith Fraser. Survivors include  her husband Bobby Jones of Victoria, sons – Eugene Poe Jr and Michael Lowe of Amelia, her daughter – Sharon Tucker (Mike) of Midlothian, her granddaughter – Melanie Tucker Ellenberg (Matt) of  Pittsburgh Pa,  sisters – Ruby  Armistead (Charles) of Farmville  and  Lucy Brame (Butch)  of Victoria,  three stepsons – Tim, Robbie and Jimmy Jones of Victoria.  She was very artistic. She enjoyed painting and maintained  an Art Gallery in Amelia.  She was a publisher and accomplished author of a series of  childrens books (Itsy Rabbit) and several autobiographies.  She was an avid gardener as well as a great southern cook.  She was a member of Jetersville Baptist Church.  Memorial Service will be held at 3:30 PM on Sunday July 8, 2018 at Hillsman Hix Funeral Home 16409 Court St. in Amelia.  The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 2PM.  Interment will be at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Amelia will be held at a later date.
