Mary Hazel Reynolds Huffmon passed from this life on September 19, 2022.  She was born in Meador Kentucky on January 12, 1922 and grew up on a farm in Southern Indiana. She was the oldest of 8 children. Hazel met and married William E. Huffmon (Bill) in June 1941. They lived in Marysville Indiana where their son Roger was born. They moved to Charlestown Indiana until 1958 when the family moved to Richmond Virginia. Hazel worked and retired from J. C. Penney's where she was an accounting manager for 20 years. They bought land and built a home on Buggs Island Lake where they retired in 1977. Hazel loved to garden and travel. She especially loved for all her family to gather at the lake where years of memories were made. Hazel was a member of the Bethesda Baptist Church.    Hazel was preceded in death by her husband William E. Huffmon, her parents Simon and Zula Cassidy Reynolds, two brothers and three sisters.  Hazel is survived by her son William Roger Huffmon and his wife Carolyn who was always like a daughter to her. Three grandchildren Kimberly Jones and her husband John, Kelli Curl, and William D. Huffmon and his wife Lisa. Great grandchildren Morgan and Matthew Jones, Jaclyn Edwards, Ciara Curl, Katlyn Stratis and Shane Wilson. 10 great, great grandchildren. Sister Flosie Tucker and brother Jimmy Reynolds and numerous nieces and nephews.  The family would like to express their appreciation of the staff of Brookdale Midlothian and James River Hospice.  Visiting at the Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home 16409 Court St. Amelia, Va. 23002 on Wednesday September 21, 2022 from 6-8PM and where services will be held on Thursday at 12 noon with interment following in the Virginia Veterans Cemetery .
