Mason Barnes Jones, age 74, of Clover, Va., formerly of Amelia, passed from this life on January 22, 2011. He was predeceased by his parents: John Thomas Jones, Sr. and Essie Rowena Childress Jones and his brothers, John Jones, Jr. and Roger Jones. He is survived by his wife, Jane, sons, John of Amelia, David of Broadnax, Va., daughters, Patricia(Chuck) Colgan of Nokesville, Va., Helen Blair Jones (Donnie) of Chesterfield, sisters, Polly Seward of Surry, Hilda Tucker of Richmond, Mary Davis of Farnham and Ruth Houck of Fredericksburg; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Mason served in the United States Navy for 20 years achieving the rank of Chief Petty Offcer. He spent his "retired" years as a self-employed electrician.
