Myra Lee Dowda, 74, of Amelia, passed from this life on June 10, 2017.  She is preceded in death by her husband Gary Lynn Dowda, her parents Luther P. and Vivian Martin VandeRiet and is survived by her son, Neill (Steve) Williams, of Washington, D. C. her brother, Eddie VandeRiet of Amelia, Myra was a retired  an accounting clerk with Mack Trucking and Va. Truck Center of Richmond  and was an avid basketball fan with Duke and San Antonio Spurs.  Contributions may be made to Stand Up to Cancer or the American Lung Association. Services will be held at 1:00PM on Friday June 16, 2017 at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery with interment following in the columbarium.
