**Obituary for Nellie Hall Keener**

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Nellie Hall Keener on March 23, 2026, at the age of 91. Born on November 11, 1934, in the quaint town of Amelia, Virginia, she was the cherished daughter of Louise White Hall and Nunnally Joseph Hall. Nellie's journey through life was defined by love, resilience, and unwavering dedication to her family.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Crawford Wayne Keener, along with her parents, her brothers Everett and Robert Hall, and her sister Catherine Hall Martin. Nellie is survived by her devoted daughter, Gayle Posipanko (Rich), her son Gary Keener, and her brother Nunnally Hall, Jr., each of whom carry forward her spirit and the legacy of compassion she so generously shared.

Nellie's early pursuits saw her graduate from Amelia County High School, and later, she attended secretarial business school. Her career included meaningful roles at Reynolds Metals and the United States Postal Service. Yet, it was her vocation as a housewife and mother, along with her unwavering support as a partner in her husband's dairy farm, that filled her heart most profoundly. Her love, support, and willingness to sacrifice were the cornerstones of her family's success, and she created a home filled with warmth and laughter.

Most recently, she resided at Cedarfield, where she continued to touch the lives of those around her with her kind spirit and gentle demeanor.

A celebration of Nellie's remarkable life will take place with funeral services scheduled for Friday March 27 at 12 Noon at Amelia Presbyterian Church. Friends and family will gather for an hour prior to the service beginning at 11:00 a.m. to share stories, memories, and tears, honoring the profound impact she had on so many lives. She will be laid to rest in Amelia Presbyterian Church Cemetery next to her husband Wayne, where her spirit will forever rest among the beautiful landscapes she loved.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Cedarfield Samaritan Fund, Amelia Academy, Amelia County Volunteer Rescue Squad, or the Amelia Fire Department, honoring her legacy of service and community involvement.

As we bid farewell to a beloved mother, sister, and friend, we remember not just the days she lived, but the love she gave-a love that will remain in our hearts forever.
