Oscar Charles Cope, age 79, of Jetersville, Va., passed away peacefully at his home on  Dec. 18, 2017.   Oscar was born on the Cope family home in Townsend, Tennessee on June 18, 1938 and was the ninth of ten children of Arnold and Janie Cope. Oscar enjoyed his life as a farmer for over 50 years and retired from Tyson  (Holly Farms) after twenty five years of dedicated work.  He met and married the girl next door Willie Belle Carpenter also of Townsend Tennessee and enjoyed    56 wonderful years together. He Is survived by his wife; Willie Belle Carpenter Cope, sons, Michael (Rhonda) of Winston-Salem, N. C., Brian (Ranna) of Amelia, daughters, Vickie ( Glenn Pedigo) Smith of Maryville, TN., and Susan Cope of Jetersville, sisters; Ella Mae Dunn of Cumberland, and Lena Dean Tipton of Townsend, Tennessee,  four grandchildren, five great grandchildren.   Funeral services   1:00PM on Friday Dec. 22, 2017  at the Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home 16409 Court St. in Amelia, with burial following at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Rice, Va.  The family will receive visitors from 11AM until the time of the service.  Memorial contributions may be made to Sandy Creek Baptist Church 25450 E.
