Owen L. Smith, age 70, of Amelia, passed from this life on July 3, 2014.  He is survived by his son, Owen Parker Smith (Cindy) of Powhatan, and his daughter, Kelly Renee Smith of Richmond, one sister, Shirley Kemp of Hillsville, VA, and one grandson Owen Wyatt Smith.  He was a vintage car enthusiast, master storyteller, nature lover and experienced the world through his children.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday July &, at the Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home 16409 Court Street in Amelia with burial following at Trinity UMC in Dinwiddie.  Visiting at the funeral home will be Sunday July 6 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. .
