Raymond B. Rathmann, 86, passed away on April 13, 2025, in Amelia Court House, VA. Raymond was born in Queens, NY, to Benno and Pauline Rathmann. He is survived by his wife, Sandra, his two sons James (Meggan) and Michael; step-children Donald Bush (Debbie) and Amy Arey (Brett); grand-children Anthony (Krista), Kaylee, Bret, Claire, Meadow and Serenity; great-grandchildren Bella and Zoey. Raymond volunteered with the Air National Guard Color Guard, Patchogue NY Elks Lodge, Suffolk County NY Police Auxiliary, and Amelia County VA Emergency Squad. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 21, 2025 at Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home, 16409 Court St, Amelia Court House, VA 23002 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, with the funeral service immediately following. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia, 10300 Pridesville Rd, Amelia Court House, VA 23002.
