Robert Lee Barden, age 87, of Powhatan, passed from this life on July 19, 2010. He is preceded in death by his wife Dolly Lloyd Barden and is survived by ; son Ronald Barden Sr. (Faith) of Powhatan; daughters Louise Griles (David) of Amelia, Elsie Borum (Jimmy) of Rice, and Faye Campbell (Ralph) of Amelia; grandchildren, George Borum, Amanda Emerson, Sherry Midkiff, Sam Barden, Tonya Purington, and Carmen Griles, great grandchildren, Taylor Emerson, Angela Emerson, Ashley Morse, Summer Barden, Christin Midkiff, Ryan Barden, Clara Faith Emerson, Hannah Purington, Brendan Borum, Patrick Purington, Tesla Purington, and Douglas Purington, sister, Mary Davis of Amelia, and many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Also preceded by siblings, Ann Wingo, Cabel Barden, Venie Penick, and Mae Nixon. Visitation on Tuesday from 6:30-8:30 pm at the Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home, 16409 Court St. in Amelia, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am with burial to follow at Salem United Methodist Cemetery.
