Ruby Grace Adkins Pembelton, age 102 of Amelia, VA, went to be with the Lord peacefully on Oct. 10, 2022.  She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband William Roy Pembelton "Jack", and nine siblings.  Survivors include her daughters; Hilda Wright of Midlothian, and Deretha Norman (Ernest) of Amelia; two grandsons, Ernest Lendon Norman, Jr., (Amy) of Midlothian, and William Timothy Wright (Barbi) of Powhatan; three great grandchildren, Ernest Lendon Norman III "Jack", William Watson Norman, and Lydia Noelle Wright.

Ruby was a lifetime and devoted member of Sandy Creek Baptist Church in Jetersville.  She took a very active part at church including leadership roles in the WMU as well as teaching Sunday School. Ruby managed the family farm along with Jack until his death in 1967.  After that, she worked for many years at the Hub Bootery in Farmville and later as a highly successful Avon Lady.  She made many friends and remained an independent, and active member of her community.  Ruby dearly loved her family as well as using her artistic talents for crafts, sewing, and arranging with flowers for many happy years.  She will be greatly missed by all.

Services at Sandy Creek Baptist Church at 1:PM on Thursday Oct. 13 with burial following in the church cemetery.  Visiting prior to the funeral beginning at 12 Noon in the Sanctuary. Contributions may be made to Centra Hospice of Farmville.
