Ruby Pace Southall, 86, of Jetersville, Virginia passed away peacefully on the morning of December 22, 2024 after a long and courageous fight with Alzheimer's. Ruby was born to Magdalene and James Pace on June 5, 1938 in Albemarle County, Virginia, later relocating to Crewe, Virginia.
Ruby dedicated her life to loving and caring for her family, always dropping whatever she was doing to offer a listening ear, hug, words of wisdom and shoulder to cry on. She was an excellent cook, who fed friends, family and countless workers on their dairy farm in Jetersville. Ruby was young at heart, right down to her later years. She never turned down an opportunity to laugh and make memories with her family, whether it be sleigh riding head first down a snowy hill, riding 4-wheelers, swimming in the creek on their property in the summertime, or going shopping. Ruby was the epitome of selflessness, love, loyalty and devotion to family and friends. She was the glue that held the family together and she will be greatly missed.
Ruby was preceded in death by her mother, Magdalene Pace; father, James Pace; youngest daughter, Teresa Southall; and a host of brothers and sisters whom she also loved and cared for dearly. Ruby is survived by her husband, James "Jimmy" Southall III; daughters, Bonnie (William) Morton, Mary (Andrew) Hetz, and Lorie Keener; grandchildren, Hope (Dustin) Bates, Jamie King, Haley (Michael) White, and Grayson King; and great grandchildren, Nolan Bates and Linleigh Bates.
A celebration of life ceremony will be held on Friday, December 27, 2024 at 11:00AM at Jetersville Methodist Church, 21721 Farmers Ln, Jetersville, Va 23083, followed by a private graveside ceremony for immediate family only.
