Rufus Lee Ellington, age 93, of Midlothian, formerly of Amelia County passed from this life on January 31, 2017.  He is preceded in death by his wife; Marion E. Ellington, and son, George Melvin Ellington (1993) and is survived by his son, Rufus L. Morse-Ellington of Fla., two grandsons, Robert James Morse-Ellington (R.J.), Bruce Morse-Ellington, and two granddaughters, Julie Ellington Bampton, Ginger Marie Ellington, and five great grandchildren and daughter-in-laws Patricia Ellington and Kathy Graham. Mr. Ellington was retired from Roadway Express and was a US Army Veteran of WWII and was decorated with the Purple Heart and Bronze Star Medal in the Pacific Theatre.  Funeral services 12 Noon Thursday Feb. 2, at Sandy Creek Baptist Church in Jetersville with burial following with honors in the church cemetery.  Visiting at the Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home 16409 Court St. in Amelia from 6-8PM on Wed.
