Obituary

Sallie Everease (Maxey) Arrington, 94, of Amelia, Virginia entered her eternal home in Heaven on Tuesday, January 5, 2010. She was predeceased by her husband, William Woodrow Arrington; her parents, Albert Sidney Maxey, Sr. and Virginia (Reames) Maxey; her sister, Eunice Vaughan, and her only brother, Albert Sidney Maxey, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Arrington; her sisters, Virginia Worner and Mary Vaughan; her sisters-in-law, Mildred Maxey, Virginia Dyer, and Margaret Lifsey; her brother-in-law Louis Arrington, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Everease was a devote Christian and a Sunday school teacher for over 50 years at Rennie Memorial Presbyterian Church in Amelia, Virginia. She was a type setter for The Amelia Gazette, Amelias former newspaper. In 1943 she was employed by the Amelia County Agricultural Conservation Association Office. She was a stay-at-home Mom until her daughters high school graduation in 1968. From the Fall of 1968 until her retirement in 1977, Everease drove a school bus and was a teachers aide for the Amelia County Public School System. She loved the out-of-doors and was an avid photographer, family history researcher, and writer . Her remains rest at the Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home in Amelia, Virginia where a brief service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, January 9, 2010 (no visitation). Interment will follow at Rennie Memorial Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Amelia, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Rennie Memorial Presbyterian Church or your favorite charity.
