Samuel Gordon Davis, Sr, age 86, of Amelia, formerly of Portsmouth and Suffolk passed from this life on March 21, 2011. He is survived by his wife, Juanita, his son, Samuel Jr. and wife Cheryl of Amelia his daughter, Stephanie Trent and her husband (George Butch) of Reidsville, N. C., grandchildren, Samuel Gordon Davis III (Trey), Jennifer Davis Golden, and Matthew Chandler Trent, great grandson, Chandler Grayson Davis. Funeral services 3PM on Thursday at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Amelia with military honors following. Visiting at the Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home 16409 Court St. from 6-9PM on Wednesday with a Masonic service being held by the Amelia Masonic Lodge #101beginning at 6PM.
