With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Shirley Ann Hawkins, who peacefully departed this life on June 16, 2025, at the age of 93. Born on December 28, 1931, in Virginia, Shirley lived a fulfilling life marked by love, dedication, and compassion. She was a cherished resident of Amelia, Virginia, where she embraced her role as a devoted homemaker and made lasting memories with her family and friends.Shirley was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George W. Hawkins, and her devoted parents, Bernard and Estelle Jones. However, her spirit will continue to live on through her niece, JoAnn McCullough, and numerous other nieces and nephews who will forever treasure the moments shared and the lessons learned from their beloved aunt.Shirley's work ethic and grace extended beyond her home, as she contributed her talents at Johnston-Willis Physical Therapy and Dupont Chemicals. Her unwavering kindness and strength of character left an indelible mark on the lives she touched.A graveside service to honor and celebrate Shirley's life will be held on June 21, 2025, at 12:00 Noon at Union Baptist Church, located at 22110 Genito Road, Amelia Court House, VA 23002.
