Obituary

Shirley Bonita Kimbler Loftis (Bonnie), 66, of Amelia, Va was surrounded by her loving family as she was embraced into the arms ofher Savior on Thursday, December 27, 2012.  Born May 19, 1946 in Pulaski, Va. She is preceded in death by her parents Curtis and Goldie Kimbler, and her beloved niece Hannah and brother-in-law Jeff George. Bonnie was retired from Bellwood Federal Credit Union after 26 years of service holding the position of Vice President of Member Services. She was a dedicated and loyal employee with an unprecedented work ethic.  She was respected and loved by those she worked with and the many countless members she served throughout her years of service. Bonnie was a member of Arbor Baptist Church where she served with her whole heart.  Throughout her membership, she served in numerous roles including Chairman of the Deacon Board, Children's Department Director, Assistant Building Fund Treasurer, Hospitality Committee member, choir member, Chair of Beautification Committee, planner extraordinaire of special events, especially the Fall Festival. Primarily, she loved the church and all it represented to honor and extend the Kingdom of God, with her first love being the children.  She opened her heart, her home, and her soul to any one who needed her.  Her family was the love of her life.  She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Randy. Two daughters and sons-in-law whom she adored,  Angela and Scott Hovermale of Midlothian and Melisa and David Pouleris of Suffolk.  Four beloved grandchildren whom she was so incredibly proud of Brenden, Dylan, and Peyton Hovermale and Ethan Pouleris. Two sisters, Luana Kimbler Collier of Daytona, Florida and Teresa Kimbler George of Roanoke. One brother Curtis Kimbler of Jacksonville, Fl and numerous nieces and nephews. Bonnie's love of family is unsurpassed.  Her devotion to her husband as they traveled throughout his military career, while making lifelong friends wherever they were, gave her such joy.  Selflessly caring for her aging parents, her constant prayers, the gift of her open home, the consummate loving wife, mother, grandmother sister, and friend. She was full of laughter, love, and a passion for living.  An incredible example for us all to follow.  Visitation will be on Saturday, December 29, 2012 from 6-8 pm at Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home, Amelia Virginia. Funeral service on Sunday, December 30, 2012 at 2 pm, Arbor Baptist Church, Amelia Va, with burial following at the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Laborers for Christ Ministry at Arbor Baptist Church, 13701 Butlers Road, Amelia, Va 23002
