Shirley Margaret Armistead, age 70, of Amelia, passed away on May 10, 2017.  The widow of the late Burnie Houston Armistead, she is survived by her sons Wilburn Barton Jr., of Green Bay, Johnnie William Barton of Eugene,OR, and James Richard Barton of Green Bay; daughters Pamela K. Ball of Amelia, Laura Barton of Amelia, and Sharon Ashworth of Victoria; siblings Mildred Godfrey-Breenden, James Henry Owens, Betty Ann Hamby, and Clara Thelma Owens; fifteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by six siblings.  A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday May 13 at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Rice, VA.  Visiting at the Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home 16409 Court St. in Amelia from 6:00-8:00PM.
