Shirley Ann (Sheppard) Goodman, age 83, of Amelia, passed from this life on August 1, 2018.  Shirley was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Amelia.   She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years Coleman Guthrie Goodman, her sister; Margaret Virginia Sheppard Farney, her mother, Ruth Virginia Berry Sheppard, and her father, Emmett Milton Sheppard, and is survived by her two daughters, Jane Kellam and her husband, Garnett of Mappsville, VA  and Martha Hathcock and her husband Charlie of Kitty Hawk, N. C. ; two granddaughters, Rachel Kellam and Hannah Kloch and husband Andy; and sister-in-law, Caroline Warren of Richmond; as well as loving nephews and nieces, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends at Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home on Saturday August 4, 2018 from 5-7PM.  The funeral service will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church at 4PM  on Sunday August 5, 2018 with interment private.  In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, Amelia, Va 23002, Grove Cemetery Association, 349 Sunnyside Rd., Cumberland, VA. 23040-2621 or SPCA 848 Freestate Rd.  Meherrin, Va. 23954
