Siegfried (Sigi) Berling, age 80 of Amelia Court House, Virginia went to be with the Lord on January 7, 2025. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle. Sigi was a devoted husband to Eva Berling for 58 years, a loving father to Stephen Berling (Marla), Sonja Bellinger (Christopher) and Steffany Holcombe (George Jr), and a cherished grandfather, affectionally known as "Pops" to Matthew Bellinger (Katie), George "Wes" Holcombe III, Samantha Holcombe, Erik Berling (Ashley), Calli Bellinger, Alek Holcombe and great grandfather to 2 adorable babies, Owen & Noelle Berling. He also leaves behind a loving sister Filliani Green, (Robert). Siegfried was extremely proud of his close-knit family, and was known for his strong work ethic, his gentle ways, and unique sense of humor. He had a passion for golf and loved his Philadelphia Eagles (Go Birds!) In 1960, Siegfried moved from Nuremberg, Germany to the United States. He served in the United States Army from 1965 to 1972. While serving, he met his future wife Eva, who he married in 1967, and went on to pursue a successful career in construction for the next 40 years, owning his own business. After living in Egg Harbor City, NJ for 50 years, he then retired to Amelia Court House, Virginia in 2015. He is preceded in death by his parents Rudolf Berling, Elisabet & George Steger. Siegfried's ashes will be interred at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia, 10300 Pridesville Rd, Amelia Court House, VA 23002 at 1:00 pm on Friday January 31st.
