IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ted Davis
Elliott
December 23, 1934 – December 11, 2025
Ted Elliott, of Jetersville, VA, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2025, surrounded by the warmth and love of his cherished family in the comfort of his home just shy of his 91st birthday. Born on December 23, 1934, Ted was the eldest child of Johnnie U. and Fronnie West Elliott, who preceded him in death. Ted's deep love for family was a testament to the close-knit upbringing he shared with his late siblings: Thea Elliott, Paul Elliott, Maggie Squires, Lois Johnson, Ruth Jenkins, Daisy Banton, and Mac Elliott. Ted's enduring legacy lives on in his devoted wife of 67 years, Barbara Carter Elliott, whose partnership and love were the foundations of his life. He was a loving and respected father to Barry Elliott of Amelia, Michele Elliott of Powhatan, Jan Pollock (John) of Jetersville, and Jill Brinkley (Charlie) of Charlotte Courthouse. His greatest joys were his seven grandchildren, Baley Carver (Mayson), Tatum Elliott, Justin Pollock (Cassidy), Aaron Brinkley (Olivia), Landon Brinkley, Logan Brinkley, and Truett Pollock, and his precious great-grandchild, Lane Carver. Ted is also survived by his brother John Elliott of Blackstone and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who enriched his life. Ted was a man of humble means and simple pleasures, finding joy in hunting, fishing, tending to his garden, and piddling in his garage. He possessed a profound love for the land he called home, choosing the company of family and friends over travel, and delighting in sharing stories of his life's adventures. He devoted 37 years to Alleghany Warehouse Company in Richmond and another eight fulfilling years at Longwood in Farmville. Ted's life was a living testament to his unwavering faith and commitment to his community. He was a dedicated member of Sandy Creek Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, trustee, and member of the cemetery committee for many years, embodying his deep devotion and love for his Lord Jesus. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 17th beginning at 10am at Sandy Creek Baptist Church in Jetersville, VA with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 11am. There will be a private burial at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Sandy Creek Baptist Church building fund at 25450 E. Sayler's Creek Rd Jetersville, VA 23083 or Amedisys Hospice Care at 920 S Main St Suite C&D Blackstone, VA, 23824 as a tribute to Ted's enduring spirit and his love for his faith community.
