Thelma Patsy Saunders Taylor died at the age of 79, around 10 pm, on June, 12, 2025, in her and her husband's home in Amelia County, Virginia. Pat is preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Cecile Saunders and her step-son Darryl Taylor.  Surviving are her husband of 47 years Dennis Taylor; her children Jay (& Samantha) Wade, Liz Wade Elliott, her step-daughter Daphne (and Jeff) Brighum of Wisconsin, and step-daughter-in-law Bonnie Taylor of Colorado; her grandchildren Scott (& Caitlyn) Wade, Kyle Wade, Alex (& Theresa) Taylor, Jake (& Ashley) Taylor, Ryan Caccavale, Natasha (& Shaun) Besson, Samantha (& Paul) Brodner, and Taylor Kurowski; 8 great grand-children; and her sister, Sandra Wade. Pat graduated from Amelia High School in 1964. Pat was a 10-year veteran of the US Air Force. She received her BS from Longwood University and taught Math for 23 years in Powhatan.  After retirement, Pat and Dennis became "snow birds" and spent their winters at Ancient Oaks in Okeechobee, Florida, where she enjoyed water aerobics, playing cards, line dancing, golfing, and singing in the community choir. Pat was a deacon and life-long member of Piedmont Baptist Church. While in Florida, she attended and supported the Okeechobee Presbyterian Church.  In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to either Piedmont Baptist Church (17801 Genito Rd, Amelia, VA 23002) or Okeechobee Presbyterian Church (312 North Parrott Ave, Okeechobee, FL 34974) or Legacy Hospice (1801 Bayberry Ct, Ste 201, Richmond, VA 23226). The celebration of Pat's life will be held at 12:00 p.m. at Piedmont Baptist Church, 17801 Genito Rd, Amelia, VA, 23002. Visitation at 11:00 am, service at noon, with a meal to follow in the fellowship hall.
