Thomas E. "Buddy" Gholson, age 75, of Amelia, died Sunday August 27, 2017 at UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville with his family by his side. Buddy retired from VDOT in June 1, 2015 after 42 years of service.  He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Donna Kaye (Staples) Gholson, son, Jeffrey Gholson (Mary); daughter, Cindy Paige Wynn (Kris), grandchildren, Dylan, Kacy, Peyton, Branden, Devan and Kayla; brother, Bill (Carolyn) Gholson; sister, Phyllis Crews and Louise (Glen) Moore, as well as extended family, many special nieces and nephews, and friends.  At Buddy's request no public services will be held.  The family will conduct private services.
