Thomas H. Dixon, Sr., age 78, of Amelia, VA, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 11, 2020.  He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Nancy Dixon, his children, Pam Skidmore (David), Carolyn Collins (Tim), and Thomas Dixon, Jr.; six grandchildren, Candice Young, David Skidmore, Jr. "DJ", Timothy Collins, Jr., Erica Newcomb, Leann Dixon and Thomas Dixon, III; and eight great-grandchildren.  He is also survived by his three sisters, Shirley Roberts, Barbara Phillips and Elizabeth Eggleston.  Thomas served in the Marine Corps after graduating from Randolph Henry High School in Charlotte County, Virginia. He retired from VDOT with 37 years as a construction inspector. He loved his farm, the outdoors and Volkswagens, but his greatest love was his wife and family. He will be buried at Mt. Harmony Methodist Church Cemetery in Charlotte Courthouse. Funeral services will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
