Tim Franklin Jones, 81, son of Harold and Mattie Jones of Amelia, VA and loving husband to Betty for 32 years passed peacefully at his home on August 17. Tim was a lifelong farmer and loved his time on the farm. He began as a tobacco farmer and has farmed livestock and numerous crops over the years. In his earlier years, he worked at the livestock market in Blackstone and Victoria and loved playing softball and horseshoes with family and friends. Tim was a loving dad and family man; he was everyone's friend. His love was spending time with his family and sharing his tractor with his four-legged friends in the middle of a hayfield. Tim is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Doris Jones and Emma Lee Moore; and brother, Henry Jones. He is survived by his wife, Betty; brother, Sid (Judy) of Chesterfield; sister, Mitzie Flippin (Richard) of Amelia; children, Troy Flippin (Virginia), Tracey Harris (John David Morris), Brian Jones all of Amelia; as well as his stepchildren, Pam Wilmoth (Greg) of Chesterfield, Kelly Sullinger (Mike) of Pittsburgh; and his eight grandchildren. Friends, family and others whose lives Tim has touched are invited to a celebration of life for Tim at Hope Chapel at 9600 Wayside Avenue, Amelia VA at 1:00 p.m. Thursday August 22.
