Troy L. Blankenship, age 81, of Amelia, passed away on September 5, 2016.  He is survived by his wife Peggy, son Richard L. Blankenship of Bracey, VA, daughter Donna Butler of Amelia, brothers Ray Blankenship of Michigan and Terry Blankenship of Missouri; sisters Lois Yeatts of Jetersville, Martha West of Amelia and Frances Gwaltney of Powhatan, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was predeceased by his sisters Margie Poore and Barbara Sheehan. Funeral services are set for 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 8, at Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home, 16409 Court St. in Amelia, with burial to follow at 12 noon at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery with military honors  The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m.
