Alliene C. O'Shields of Amelia, VA, formerly of Abbeville, SC , died on November 23, 2011. She was born on May 19,1917, daughter of Essie Childs and Graydon Campbell. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Odis E. O'Shields, her brother Gordon and sisters Sybil Sorrow, Lillian Blanchett, Ann Shirley and Vara P. Holden. She is survived by her daughter, Gaye and husband G. Gregory Hall, Jr. of Amelia, VA. She was called "Darlin" by her grandchildren, Greg III (Lisa) of Powhatan, VA, Valerie Jeffries (John) of Stokesdale, NC and Cynthia Dobbs (Donald) of Fredonia, NY and six great-grandchildren. Remaining are her sisters Eva Griffin of Waldo, Fla. and Jackie Williams of Greenwood, SC; brothers Bennett of Abbeville, SC and Sonny Campbell of Wellford, SC. After retiring as a beautician, she earned degrees in English and Art and Erskine College and Lander University. Her creative interests were painting, sculpture and quilting. She provided flowers from her garden for Trinity Episcopal Church for many years. A graveside burial service will be at a later date at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Abbeville, SC.
