Campbell, Vernelle O, 86 of Amelia County passed away Oct. 22 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Campbell, and son Gary T. Nunnally, daughter Tina Felcher, sister Bertha Lanham and brother Denver R. Oakley Jr. She is survived by four children, David Nunnally Sr., Mark Nunnally, James Campbell, and Ann Wallace, her sister Phyllis Ann Taylor, her grandchildren, Lisa Nunnally Jones, David Nunnally Jr., Ben Nunnally, Christina Nunnally, Christopher Nunnally Jr, Karissa Davis, Cody Wallace, Elizabeth Sanders. Vernelle retired from Dupont, was a bus driver for Amelia County Schools and a member of Salem Church in Amelia. The family will receive friends on Saturday November 2, from 2-4:00 p.m. at Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home, 16409 Court St. in Amelia, with funeral services held at 4:00 p.m. Interment will take place at 12:00 noon on Monday November 4th at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia, 10300 Pridesville Rd. in Amelia. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Special Olympics.
