Vernon Eugene Vandeloecht, age 81, of Amelia, passed from this life on August 5, 2017.  He is survived by his wife of 43 years; Jane, his sons; Michael (Cathy) Vandeloecht of Warsaw, Va., Daryl (Michelle) Taylor of Mechanicsville, daughters, Karen (John) Marion of Fredericksburg, Va., Janet Morton (Jerry) of Midlothian, and Sherri Lane of Mechanicsville and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his son, Tracy Vandeloecht.  Mr. Vandeloecht was a retired employee of Food Lion in Amelia.  A gathering of friends and family will be held 6:00-8:00PM  on Friday August 11, 2017 at the Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home 16409 Court St. in Amelia with a private interment for the convenience of the family at a later date.
