Wade Hampton Thacker, Jr., age 84, of Amelia, went to be with the Lord on November 28, 2019.  He is preceded in death by his father; Wade Sr., his mother, Louise T. Thacker, his wife Ann B. Thacker, and his brother Harold E. Thacker.  Survivors include his wife Chris; daughters Brenda (Jody) Myers and Holly VandeRiet; granddaughters Brandi Cheeseman (Robert) and Brittany Estep (Tristan); great granddaughters Raegan, Sadie, Adeline; his siblings Cecil (Jean), Paul (June), Raymond (Carolyn), Barbara (Bo) Zirkle, and Betty Thacker. Wade retired after 40 years driving for Greyhound Bus Lines, loved driving for Goodman Truck and Tractor Co. enjoyed working security at Richmond Raceway and talking with the drivers.  He attended many crafts shows and especially enjoyed working at Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home.    A church service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday December 2, 2019 at the Amelia Baptist Church with interment following at 3:00 p.m. at Danville Memorial Gardens in Danville, VA.  Visiting at the Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home 16409 Court St. in Amelia from 6-8:00 p.m. on Sunday.  Members of Masonic Lodge 101 will conduct a masonic service at 6PM on Sunday prior to visitation.
