Wilford Leslie Poore, age 73, of Amelia, passed from this life on September 25, 2022 with angels by his side, doing what he loved best, farming. He was preceded in death by his parents Margaret and Leslie Poore. Wilford worked at Goodman Truck and Tractor, Taylor-Forbes in Farmville, and operated Jim Royall Heating Services. He was a lifetime member of Piedmont Baptist Church and operated Flat Creek Farm all his life. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Linda Royall Poore, his daughter Susan and son James Leslie (Lindsey); grandchildren Logan (Emily), Lauren, Willie, and Avery; brothers Donnie (Dee), Timmy (Susie), and Tommy. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday September 30, at Amelia Presbyterian Cemetery. The family will receive friends after the service in the Amelia Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Blessed Sacrament Huguenot, 2501 Academy Rd., Powhatan, VA 23139. Due to the change in the weather prediction the Memorial service will be held in the Virginia War Memorial Bldg. on Dunn St. in Amelia at 1:00PM.  Friday .
