William Michael Barnes, age 54, of Amelia, passed away on April 5, 2012. He is survived by his wife Carolyn, father John Robert Barnes of Richmond, and brother John R. Barnes, Jr. of IL. William was active in Civil War Re-enactments and was a veteran of the Army Airborne. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. on Saturday April 7, at the Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home, 16409 Court St. in Amelia. A chapel service will be held on Monday April 9 at 12 noon at the funeral home, with burial to follow at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery.
